Steve Rubinstein

Steve is a managing director and senior portfolio manager within the Asset Management group at Antares Capital.

Prior to joining the Asset Management group, Steve was a managing director on the Junior Capital team where he was responsible for screening, underwriting and managing the unitranche and junior capital portfolio.

Steve joined Antares in 2008 from Merrill Lynch Capital where he began his career and was responsible for structuring and underwriting sponsor-backed leverage finance transactions.

Steve graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Darin B. Schmalz

Senior Vice President

Chicago

Darin is a senior vice president in the Asset Management group at Antares Capital.

Prior to Antares, Darin was at Maranon Capital, where he led the firm's structured credit and fund initiatives. Earlier in his career, he held various middle market underwriting roles at CapitalSource Finance and JP Morgan Securities.

Darin earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Steve Schroppe

Managing Director

New York

Steve is a managing director with Antares Capital.  He works in the firm’s capital markets group as a ratings advisor and is responsible for managing all aspects of the credit ratings process on behalf of the firm’s corporate clients.

Prior to Antares, Steve spent 15 years at GE Capital in several areas including finance, portfolio management and ratings advisory. Prior to GE, Steve was a financial analyst with IBM. He began his career at Citizens Bank of Maryland.

Steve graduated from Bucknell University and received an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

 

Jordan Schwartz

Vice President

Chicago

Jordan is a vice president with Antares Capital. He is responsible for structuring, underwriting, documenting, and managing private equity sponsored transactions.

Jordan joined Antares Capital in 2018. Prior to joining Antares, he worked for Lincoln International in its Valuation & Options group.

Jordan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and received a Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan.

Michael Scruggs

Vice President

Atlanta

Michael is a vice president with Antares Capital. He is responsible for the structuring, underwriting, legal documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management of credit facilities provided to private equity-owned businesses.

Michael joined Antares Capital in 2016. Prior to Antares, Michael started his career with Deloitte & Touche.

Michael graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Arvin Shahnazi

Senior Vice President

Los Angeles

Arvin is a senior vice president with Antares Capital. He is responsible for the structuring, underwriting, legal documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management of credit facilities provided to private equity-owned businesses.

Prior to joining Antares Capital, Arvin started his career within the commercial banking division of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Arvin graduated cum laude from The University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Economics.

Colin Sharkey

Vice President

Chicago

Colin is a vice president on the Product Specialist Team within the Asset Management group.

He is responsible for engaging with and managing strategic client relationships with institutional investors and stakeholders, as well as driving product development. Previously, Colin worked on both the portfolio management team, overseeing advised client portfolios, and the credit team, underwriting new deals and managing existing borrower relationships. Prior to joining Antares in 2018, he held a portfolio management and underwriting role at Wells Fargo Corporate Banking Division where, Colin worked with large corporate clients in the industrials sector.

Colin earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Stephanie Shen

Senior Vice President

Stephanie is a senior vice president in the Portfolio Management Group at Antares Capital.

Prior to joining Antares in 2019, Stephanie was a director at Prudential Private Capital responsible for structuring, underwriting, portfolio management, and investor relations for five mezzanine funds.

Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.

James Simms

Senior Vice President

New York

James is a senior vice president of Antares Capital. He is responsible for portfolio monitoring, portfolio analytics, reporting related activities, and management and monitoring of Antares Capital credit facilities.

James joined GE Antares in 2013. Prior to GE Antares, James was with GE Capital where he was responsible for asset management, financial planning and analysis, reporting and analytics.

James received his MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business with a concentration in finance.

Justin Small

Managing Director

Chicago

Justin is a managing director at Antares Capital. He works on the originations team covering Boston and Chicago. He is responsible for all facets of the deal process including sourcing, structuring, closing and managing investment opportunities.

Justin joined the GE Antares team in 2011. Prior to GE Antares, Justin was with PNC Bank where he started his career in 2006.

Justin earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Olivet Nazarene University.

Phillip Smith

Phillip is a senior vice president with Antares Capital. He is responsible for structuring, underwriting, documenting and managing transactions.

Phillip joined GE Antares as part of GE Capital’s Risk Management Leadership Program. He began his career at U.S. Bank.

Phillip earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Utah State University and an International MBA from the University of South Carolina's Moore School of Business.

Jack Snyder

New York

Jack is managing director and head of U.S. Wealth Solutions.

Jack joined Antares Capital in 2024. Previously he served as managing director, national sales manager for Wirehouse and RIA channels and head of Retail Alternatives Sales for First Eagle Investments. Prior to this role, he worked as managing director, east regional manager, Global Private Client Group for Nuveen Investments.

Jack graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University, Purdue School of Business with a specialization in finance.
